I have been
told that there are approximately
six billion humans alive today.
In 1974, there were only four billion.
In 1960, there were three billion.
In 1927, two billion.
And in 1804, just one billion.
There are more of us alive today
than ever lived and died
before us.
If the present were to wage a war against the past,
we would have them at a tremendous
numerical disadvantage.
